Travel, AAU and HS JV/Varsity players are welcome, but may need to play up an age group.

Grades 2-3 will have some practices and some games (same dates), April 10 to June 6.

For the 3rd year, Burke Basketball is offering a Spring House league again this season.

House games will run for 8 weeks from April 10 – June 6, on weekends only, with no games on the Memorial Day weekend.

AGES:
House, Grades 2-3, Boys and Girls separated if the registration counts permit, otherwise Co-Ed.
House, Grades 4-12 and College freshman, Boys and Girls separated.

Team Formation - For the specific House age groups where there are not enough players to form 4 full teams (32 players minimum), 2-4 adjacent age groups will be combined into leagues as needed. If combining age groups still does not provide enough players/teams, refunds will be provided to the affected players.

Unlike the Fall/Winter season, there are no evaluations and no draft, therefore the Spring and Summer seasons are the opportunities to request to play with your friends!

Requests for specific coaches and 3 players may be entered in the Comments section of the Player Registration, and we will try our best to honor them. We cannot promise that all requests will be met.

A Coach may request to keep players together from a Winter team in his/her Coach registration. The players must be specified by player name (not team name) in the registration comments.

Individual Requests - We cannot accommodate special request for scheduling of individual players!

Provisions - Burke Basketball will provide for the House league: Referees, game clocks, gym space, and player T-shirts.

Team standings will not be kept. All games will be played in the gyms that FCPS allocates to us, either elementary, middle and/or high schools in the Burke/Fairfax/Fairfax Station/South County area.

Code of Conduct - Games will be regulation and will follow Burke Basketball’s Codes of Conduct for players, coaches and spectators, as well as Participation Rules and other general rules.

Rule Enforcement - The League will adhere to the Burke Basketball Rule Enforcement policy.

Registration for Players/Coaches/Volunteers - Registration will be online only via one of the links below. Both credit cards (VISA and M/C) and checks will be accepted for payment.

All players who register by the March 15 deadline will be placed on teams, unless there are not enough coaches in certain age groups or if combined age groups still contain less than 32 players.

Coaches/Volunteers - There will be no volunteer fees this season, but we are always in need of volunteers, especially parent and/or teen coaches and Team VBD’s!

Specific teams will also need help from parents or siblings as scorekeepers, timekeepers, communicators, etc.

League Directors - The Spring 2010 League Directors are Charles Chandler (chancon@erols.com) and Susan Madsen (susan_d_madsen@hotmail.com).
