Waiting List Instructions - If you register after 8 October, we will put you on our Waiting List (grades 2-8).  We will try to accommodate as many players as possible, but there is no guarantee of placement on a team if you are on the Waiting List.   

You must register your basketball player to get on the waiting list.  

A $25 late fee will be applied to the registration payment automatically after the registration deadline.

*Reminder - If you are having technical difficulty registering, trying using another PC. This is a quick means of determining if you have a browser/PC setting issue. In most cases, this will solve your problem.

Also, do not bookmark any registration pages as this is changed each season. Please start at the Burke Basketball home page when registering your player.

Instructional League (Grades K-1st) - Groups will be formed in December and emails sent to parents by the first week of January.  Look to the web site in late December for the upcoming schedule. We will have 5 groups of 40 players each this season to accommodate the large number of registrations.   

There are no practices during the week for this program.  All sessions will be played on Saturdays between 8am and 3pm during the months of January and February.  There are no tryout/evaluation sessions for this age group.  

This is a very popular league so please sign up early in September.  For more details on this program, read the Burke Basketball Program Overview for the Instructional league.    The last day for regular registration in the instructional league is 1 November. After that date, you will be charged a $25 Late fee, and your player will be placed on a Waiting List. To register via our on-line form, click on the registration link at the bottom of this page.

The schedule will be posted in late December showing the date/times for each group. You will be contacted via email regarding your group assignment.

House Program (Grades 2-8) -  Practices for the House League will begin the November 15, starting as early as 5pm, and will be held in local elementary schools.  Practices will be 1 hour in length.  (see 'News' for closure status)

Dates for practices are determined by the league and coach after the draft in late October..  If the practice time conflicts with an event stated on your registration form, we will try to accommodate the request if possible.  

Due to the limited gym space, coaches do not have much flexibility in scheduling practices which may result in some conflicts for your family.  

Attend the House Draft Evaluation Sessions that are scheduled in October.   Please register your player on-line before attending (even if you are put on the waiting list).

Registration for this league is open until 8 October. After 8 October, you will be put on a waiting list. Late fees apply at that time. House U9 Competitive Program (Grades 3-4) -  For the second year we will be sponsoring the House Boys Competitive League. Tryouts will be on 12 October.

House Draft Evaluation Sessions for Grades 4-8:  see the Season Schedule for details in October.  If you do not make the Select/Travel team, please attend the House Draft Evaluation Session as scheduled (excluded from evaluation are grades K - 3, i.e. ages 5-8).  

You must register and pay before attending any evaluation/tryout sessions.  If you show up and your name is not on the roster, it is very likely you will not be placed on any team even though your player participated in the House evaluation/tryout session. 

The House evaluation sessions will be held after the Travel tryouts. The normal time frame for the House evaluations is mid October. Travel Program: For higher skill level players, Burke Basketball
participates in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL), and adhere to all rules that guide that program.

Burke Travel Coaches are chosen and reviewed through a selective process.

Open tryouts are held at the beginning of October each season.

This program requires a greater commitment from participants and their families. Practices are 3 hours per week, with and 1-2 games per week during the season.

Games are played at gyms across Fairfax County.

Programs are offered for ages of 10 and under, 11 and under, 12 and under, 13 and under (Boys only), 14 and under (Girls only), 15 and under (Boys), and 18 and under (Boys).

The placement of players is generally determined by their age as of October 1st, with two grade exceptions allowed per team.

In addition, all Burke players must reside in Fairfax County and are generally limited to our allocated zip codes of (20124, 22153, 22009, 22015, 22030, 22032, 22039, 22153, and 22199), with 2 zip code and age group exceptions allowed per team. Age groups, zip code allowances, zip/age exceptions and other information can be found

Important - Monitor the website daily at the end of September, since there is often a very short timeframe from posting to the web site and the tryout dates.  

If you register for Travel before 8 October, your email/phone contact information will be available to the coaches for contacting you.

Remember to contact the Registrar if you do not make a Travel team so that we can move your players record into the House group. To register via our on-line form, click on the registration link at the bottom of this page.

High School Teams (Grades 9-12) - Team draft sessions will be held in late November or early December. The locaton will be posted on the evaluation page.  Please register your high school basketball player early.   If he/she makes a school varsity team in November we will refund your registration fee via parental request.  On-time registration is open until 23 November  for grades 9-12 (ages 14 to 18).   See the draft schedule for details.  Registration late fees apply as of 24 November, and the player will be placed on the Waiting List.

Players that show up to the draft sessions without payment and registration ID will be the last to be considered for a team and may not get placed on a team.  To get a player ID you must register on-line.

Each year the HS league is short in coach volunteers.  This is always the limiting factor in the number of teams formed.  If you have the time, please consider helping.  To register via our on-line form, go to our Volunteer page.

Make Sure Your Computer & Browser Meet The Following Requirements!

• You will need current browsers for security purposes (Internet Explorer 6.0 w/SP2 or Netscape Communicator 8 or newer).
• If you do not have 128 bit encryption on your browser, you will experience problems with the on-line registration form and the credit card payment process.
• If you use any browser other than IE or Netscape as stated above, your complete registration process will probably result in dropping important information to us which will in effect hinder all attempts to properly document you players registration. 
• For AOL users, minimize the AOL browser and open either IE v6 or Netscape to register. The AOL portal can be unfriendly to web applications.
• Always keep your browser software updated.
