| Browser Information -
Utilizing home PC's for on-line web application processing poses a greater challenge versus a workstation in the office environment as the home PC does not have the strict control over the loading of various software programs that can inhibit a web application process.
If you are having a problem completing the registration process, this may be a browsers issue local to your PC. This is to include the ISP software that may have been installed via a CD-ROM on your PC when the Internet service started.
For AOL users, minimize the AOL browser and open either an IE v6, Netscape, or Mozilla browser. The AOL portal can be unfriendly to web applications. You will need to log into the AOL server but you do not have to use their browser software for browsing web pages.
If you used an install disk from Cox when you first signed up for their broadband service you can have the same issue as the AOL interface.
If you are using DSL and your provider had you use an install disk to connect to install software, this could be a possible issue as mentioned above.
ISP's that have you access the Internet using their software guide you through their server where they track Internet browsing (for advertising purposes). This may pose problems with web applications/programs.
Check your browser security settings. If it is too restrictive, Java may be turned off. Most web applications use some Java programming for validation at the server.
If you are experiencing problems with any web application, try using Netscape (http://browser.netscape.com/) or Mozilla's Firefox -- the choice for programmers (
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/).
Both Netscape and Mozilla browsers are free and when installed, are independent of the operating system.
Always keep your browser software updated.
Mac users using Safari will experience registration problems also. We have tested a few of the latest versions that shipped with Panther and Tiger. The results was inconclusive as there were successful registrations and incomplete registrations. We can not advocate the use of the Safari or IE emulation browser software at this time.
Feel free to contact us if you have any information that can be of use in this matter.
REMINDER - If you are having techical difficulty registering, trying using another PC. This is a quick means of determining if you have a browser/PC setting issue.

Instructions for paying by check will be provided during the registration process. You must mail a copy of your registration with your check.

We are experiencing problems with a few area families that refuse to properly pay via the check method. These families will not be allowed to register their player(s) with Burke Basketball in the future.
We prefer payment by credit card to reduce the overhead of processing checks.
During the credit card payment process, make sure the billing address is associated with the correct credit card number. The credit card clearing house validates the exact name and billing address to what is typed in.
Also make sure the name on the credit card matches exactly to the name you type in. This will help ensure a smooth payment process therefore completing the registration process. Otherwise you will receive an error and the payment process will be incomplete.
Having the exact name and address mismatched is the most common problem experienced.
Print your registration page which will have your Player ID showing.
Contact the Burke Basketball registrar for any questions.
We will try to post dates in the calendar and news pages for upcoming evaluation and tryouts. Please check the site often in September, October and November for important team information.
