Burke Basketball offers a variety of programs for all age and skill levels, including instructional leagues, Select / County basketball teams , youth and adult leagues.

The Burke Basketball referee program exists to provide new and experienced officials to call games for the Burke Basketball youth house leagues.

Each year our organization trains referees to officiate games for our winter, spring, and summer seasons.

Please keep in mind this program is very demanding as it requires a very mature personality. Young referees may find themselves having to deal with coaches acting in a 'non-professional' manner while still maintaining control of the game. When possible, young referees will be teamed with an experienced adult during the early part of their first season.

Please note that Burke Basketball will do its best to assign games to all candidates that complete the training but there are occasionally more prospective applicants each season than there are available games.

All new refs must attend both training sessions. All 2nd year and returning refs only need to attend one of the two sessons. Both sessions are a combination of classroom and on court training.

Training Sessions:

Wednesday October 12, 6:00-8:00 Terra Centre Gym

Sunday October 16, 2:00-4:00 Terra Centre Gym

Please be prepared with the following:

  • You must have registered as a referee on this website to attend.

  • Upon arrival, please make sure you sign in to receive credit for attending.
